As it turns out, the audition video for America’s Got Talent can now be 2 to 3 minutes instead of the previous 90 seconds. (I never did figure out how I was going to do the “minute and a half thing” without hacking my precious original to death!) Once the song could be a little longer, it was a “piece of cake” to put an abbreviated version together. So, the shoot was a week ago, and extremely fun. Two days later we edited the visual, making decisions about which camera view to use where. (I’ve never been a part of the edit before, and was surprised to find it quite amusing!) Tomorrow we mix the audio. (I’m kind of an old hand at adjusting sound levels, but it’s always exciting to “frost the freshly baked cake”!) Then, off my submission will go to A.G.T. Shortly after, we’ll have it up on You Tube. Go to “Cynthia Bythell Channel” and look for my song, The Wish Planet. Hope you enjoy it….

ByCynthiaIt’s that time of the year when lesson cancellations run rampant. Summer vacations definitely take their toll on my teaching income. That’s o.k., life is full of trade-offs. Wishing You Love
ByCynthiaWas it just good luck? There she was “across a crowded room” as the romantic story always goes. She was absolutely aglow with the fun she was having with her friends. This year’s celebration is special because I start the day by playing and singing my latest incarnation of my old song The Wish Planet for a very small congregation of loving listeners at The Castro Valley Unity Church. It’s a safe place to…

Answering The Artistic Lament
ByCynthiaCreativity needs room. What would this world be without music, art, literature, and live performance? The artistic soul needs time to itself to create. My life is beautifully abundant, and yet somehow amongst earning a living, running errands, paying bills, maintaining a home, self care and spiritual practice, I must find time to write songs…
No Inoculation Needed
ByCynthiaPeople said it looked like I was having fun, and that was so true. For me, nothing is more fun than performing, and last Saturday night was no exception. I had a funtastic time singin’ and swingin’ at Café Leila in Berkeley. The audience was super receptive, and seemed so happy that I wondered if…
