Doesn’t it feel like we just went through a fast forward? Next thing we know, we’ll all be singing Auld Lang Syne again! Speaking of which, I hope your holidays were as festive as mine, but now what? For me, it’s time to get my students ready for the Winter Share The Music Day where the kids will play songs from their lesson books for each other and their proud parents. Meanwhile, I need to be picking out a challenging recital piece for each student to be mastered, memorized, and performed at he formal Annual Spring Recital. In my spare time (haha), I’m getting some performance videos ready to go up on my website, and also looking forward to singing a couple of my inspirational originals at a benefit on Sat. Jan. 28, 7:30 pm, Home of Truth Spiritual Center, 1300 Grand St., Alameda. Looks like 2016 is already fading in the rear view mirror……

Loving Aspirations
ByCynthiaIt’s the “month of love” again. As always, I’m deeply grateful for my loving partner of multiple decades, loving parents who live on in my heart, and so many loving friends and business relationships. Happy New Year!
ByCynthiaIt was so much fun bringing in the New Year last night on stage, singing with the Magnolia Jazz Band in Palo Alto. Wish you could have been there, but you were probably having fun wherever you were. Some more Jan. gigs are scheduled, but so far, they’re all private events just like last night. You’ll be the first…
For My Mother
ByCynthiaMy mom gave me the gift of music. Some of my most cherished early memories include sitting side by side on the organ bench as she played and we sang together. She taught me beginning piano and basic singing technique, put a $50 piano in my bedroom, and set me loose! I was inspired by…
“Springified”
ByCynthiaIt’s the season for something new. So when I got an email intro to Dan Damon from our mutual webmaster, I absolutely had to go hear him. Dan performs both jazz & spiritual music just like I do, and plays an extremely pleasant jazz piano at Hotel Mac in Pt. Richmond. It was a lovely evening and so nice to meet…
