It was so much fun to sing with the Magnolia Jazz Band again late last month, on such a beautiful day in Napa.  It seemed like Summer, but the next thing I knew, it was time to get ready for October Share The Music Day.  This is an informal event where the students play for each other and their parents.  It’s not easy to get everyone organized into  groups and  feeling confident about a couple of pieces, but it’s one of my very best tricks!  Meanwhile, I sent off the copyright papers for the fourteenth and final song for the album I’ve been writing.  This called for a celebration,  so I stopped at Burger King for an ice cream cone.  Since I count calories everyday this 170 calories of frozen vanilla delight is one of my very best treats!

Mom was my first music teacher.  She was a brilliant goddess of love and beauty when I was little.  Some of my fondest memories are the hours we spent sitting side by side on the piano bench singing together as she played. I love recording at Sandy Stone’s studio. My new CD containing three of my original inspirational songs is done, and I’m happy with it. You probably wouldn’t know what a miracle that is, so let me explain that like so many artists, I am my own worst critic. But, Sandy has a way of capturing…
