Photos of Mom & Dad are proudly displayed on my mantel in honor of their special days. I like to believe they’re watching over me, and trying to help from the other side. Hopefully they feel as proud of me as I felt when “my” kids played their pieces at the Annual Spring Recital last month. My personal music project is going well, with recent videos and new photos now up on the website. (Exciting!) I made the hard decision to cut the upcoming album from 14 songs to 12, which are all copyrighted and ready to launch. (Good for me!) My last album had a lot of originals, but this next one will be my first all-original recording, and I’m currently enjoying continued development of the songs. (Fun!) It’s a challenge to figure out all the “hows”, “wheres” & “whos” in regard to doing the project, but I love watching a puzzle unfold. (Giant jigsaw!) Just so you know: It is my deepest desire to share the joy and power of music with everyone, and I’m filled with gratitude for this amazing musical life of transformation, love, laughter, and creative adventure….

Mom & Music
ByCynthiaMom was my first music teacher. She was a brilliant goddess of love and beauty when I was little. Some of my fondest memories are the hours we spent sitting side by side on the piano bench singing together as she played. Chance To Share x 2

Singin’ the Recital Blues
ByCynthiaEach Spring is a battle to avoid feeling stressed behind the upcoming formal recital in May. While it is true that my chill skill continues to increase in measure with each passing year, I apparently still have not achieved victory. It seems the desire for each student to experience a successful performance overwhelms my ability to…
Letter to a Special Student
ByCynthiaDear (Adult Student Name Withheld), After several tearful sessions, it’s no wonder you would be thinking of “taking a break” from your singing lessons. Usually when a student quits, my response is, “I understand, and it has been a pleasure working with you.” This is different because I have grown to care about you as…
“Springified”
ByCynthiaIt’s the season for something new. So when I got an email intro to Dan Damon from our mutual webmaster, I absolutely had to go hear him. Dan performs both jazz & spiritual music just like I do, and plays an extremely pleasant jazz piano at Hotel Mac in Pt. Richmond. It was a lovely evening and so nice to meet…

ByCynthiaI came with the intention of loving everyone. It was easy. The holding room at the Phoenix Convention Center was wall to wall with brave people living their lives fully. Some of the younger people looked a bit like they were headed for the guillotine, and my heart really went out to them. It made…
