The Holidays were cause for resentment when I was younger. It felt like ‘Tis the Season to be Busy: Just one great big “To Do” list. Now, I look forward to decking the halls, and having many gatherings of friends & family in our home. My students love the decorations, and we enjoy learning seasonal songs together. And of course there’s the multitude of parties and performances to enjoy. My sweetheart Shelly and I also celebrate our anniversary this month. We share a love that has lasted for decades. This year it’s an overnighter in Healdsburg with a view of the little downtown park all lit up for Christmas. Later this month I get to perform for the 2nd “Let’s Raise The Roof” concert, where several faiths come together to raise money to help First Congregational Church Berkeley to recover from a big fire. It’s Sun. Dec. 18, 6:00 p.m., Lake Park Methodist Church, 281 Santa Clara Ave., Oakland. Ticket donation is $25/one or $20/two or more. Info/Questions: roymosley@comcast.net (415) 742-0538. Ok, I guess it’s still the season to be busy! But it’s also creative, warm, loving & giving. Staying close to my spiritual practices fills the holidays with great joy.

Sundays Are “Event-Full” this Month!
ByCynthiaI’ve been asked to tell my story at the Unity Castro Valley 10:30 church service this coming Sunday 9/9. Yes, I was brave enough to write and post it on my website’s Inspirational Page and Face Book timeline, but sharing it live? Scary!!! Actually, I’m sure it will be fine if I ask Spirit to speak through me, and remember that…
Anticipation
ByCynthiaIt’s high time for a demo of my inspirational/Spiritual Songs. I’m waiting with bated breath for a shipment of finished CDs from U.P.S. It’s called Three Healing Songs written and performed by Cynthia Bythell, and Discmakers sent it out on the 27th of last month. So, where is that nice guy in the big brown truck? A bunch…
Holiday Hubbub
ByCynthiaLast night was nearly sleepless, with lists of things to do running through my head, along with startling realizations of things I’d forgotten about entirely (like writing this note to you around the beginning of the month). Sometimes the holidays feel like a fast moving train coming right at me! Fortunately, the rough night prompted…
When Fishes Have Wishes
ByCynthiaIf you know me, you know I have a passion for music. True to my inner fish, however, I swim the melodic ocean simultaneously in two directions. First, I swam a long way singing standards wearing the cap of a piano bar entertainer, cabaret artist, singer for a bebop influenced group, and then as a…
Again?
ByCynthiaI’m bringing all my experience and it’s wisdom (or not) to another year. Like everyone else, my only limits are my own mistaken thoughts and beliefs. They are just a product of involuntary exposure to society’s flawed suggestions, along with my knee-jerk reactions to life’s challenges. Yes, I am innocent, and so are you. …
